Day 1: Casablanca- Rabat- Chefchaouen.

14 days Morocco grand tour from Casablanca departure: You will meet the company professional guide at Casablanca’s Mohammed V airport to start your tour. First of all, you will set off for Hassan II mosque (the second largest religious building in the world which is open to non-Muslims). Later on, we will set off to the administrative capital of Morocco (Rabat). We will start with the Bad challah, the Mausoleum of Mohammed V, one of the main gates of the royal palace, and the Oudaya Kasbah. Continuing our journey we travel via the city of Kenitra, located in one of Morocco’s main agricultural areas, and over the Rif Mountains to Wazzan and finally our destination of Chefchaouen. Day 2: Free day in the bleu city (Exploring the area of the city ).

Once you finish your morning meal, you will have enough time to explore the city and look at the different sights of the blue city. You can start with the kasbah, which is a heavily restored walled fortress that now contains a lovely garden, a small ethnographic museum, and an even smaller art gallery. The ethnographic museum contains some fascinating views of old Chefchaouen, including the plaza and the kasbah; the gallery promotes the work of local artists. The views from the kasbah tower over the Medina are a delight. And the main square (Outta Hamam) where many restaurants are opening their doors to. Later on, you can also visit Ras El Maa a beautiful waterfall beyond the gate of the magical blue Chefchaouen Medina. It’s regarded as an authentic source of town and at the same time one of Chefchaouen’s attractions. Day 3: Chefchaouen – Volubilis – Meknes-Fes

In the morning at 9 am, you will drive to Fes. Before you get Fes you will visit the historical site of Volubilis. After a tour with the local guide, you will head to Meknes for sightseeing. First, you will start with the beautiful gate of Bad Mansour, the Moulay Ismail Mausoleum, Sahrij, and the Jewish quarter. Day 4: Exploring Fes (Culture tour with local guide)

After breakfast, you will start exploring the oldest city in Morocco, walking in its alleys and small streets. Our visit starts by visiting the Royal Palace gate, the Jewish quarter, the first Mellah ever built in Morocco, built during the 14th century. We will ensure that you visit all sites with cultural and historical interest including the famous Al Karaouine University, considered the oldest one in the world, the Tanneries, and Moulay Idriss mausoleum. After lunch in a traditional Moroccan restaurant, you will visit the tiles cooperative and then experience a wonderful panoramic view over the whole Medina of Fes. Day 5: Fes – Ifrane- Cedar Forest- Medalt – Ziz Valley- Merzouga

After breakfast, you will start your long day where you will see different things in one day. Our day tour will start from the first imperial city of Morocco (Fes) toward the Sahara desert. We will travel through the middle Atlas Mountains. On our way, we will pass through the city of Ifrane which is known as “Moroccan Switzerland” because of its building. We will continue to the home of the native barbarian apes the cedar forest, the largest and the biggest one in Morocco. After crossing the Middle Atlas Mountains we will see many tents and caves of the nomadic families before stopping at the city of Medalt which is famous for its apples. En route, and before arriving at the camel rides we will have a stop at the palm groves which is an impressive view of the palm trees.

Day 6: Merzouga area (Exploring around the Sahara desert)

After breakfast in the hotel, you will start an explorative journey of the area; you will visit the nomads in their goat-hair tent and learn about the desert life, afterward, you visit the Gnaoua people, originally slaves brought from Sudan; here you will have the opportunity to listen to their music and learn about their culture and lifestyle. Depending on what time of year you visit, you may have a visit to the lake of Merzouga and its bird population such as the “Flamingos”. Day 7: MERZOUGA- RISSANI- TOUDRA GORGES- DADES VALLEY

After having a traditional breakfast at the riad in front of the dunes and log out it. Later on, we will drive to Dades Valley passing through the city of Rissani/Sijilmassa which is one of the main stops of the commercial caravans that come from Africa. On Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday there will be an opportunity to visit the traditional market of Rissani. We drive to Todra Gorges as the main place for having a picnic because it is a wonderful view. Arriving at Dades Valley where you will have an overnight in a hotel that sheds light and have a good view of the valley.

Day 8: DADES VALLEY- ROSES VALLEY – OUARZAZAT- MARRAKECH

Today we travel off-road and explore the region between the Dades Valley and the Valley of Roses. You will encounter the local nomads, some of whom still live in caves and tents. At El-Kelaa M’Gouna up to 4000 tonnes of rose petals are picked every spring to be processed into rosewater or exported for the perfume industry. The Rose Festival is held here in May. As we travel from El-Kelaa M’Gouna towards Skoura you will see Kasbahs set out among the greenery of the Dades Valley. The small town of Skoura is surrounded by an impressive palm grove and the most beautiful Kasbahs in southern Morocco are to be found here. Continuing south we arrive at the Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, probably the most celebrated, filmed, and photographed Kasbah in Morocco. Featured in numerous films (including Lawrence of Arabia, The Sheltering Sky, and Gladiator), it is the best-preserved Kasbah in Morocco and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Day 9: MARRAKECH (city tour by local guide)

After breakfast at your Riad, the local guide will pick you up to start exploring the city of Marrakech. Today will see the most attractive sights and monuments that Marrakech contains including Bahia Palace, Koutoubia mosque, Saadian tombs, Jamaa El Fanaa square as well as exploring the traditional Souk of the city. In the afternoon, your driver will take you to visit the famous Majorelle Garden, and Menara Garden and have a look at the new medina (geliz) of Marrakech. In the evening we will go back to the Raid.

Day 10: Marrakech – Ouzoud Waterfalls – Marrakech

After breakfast, we will drive towards Ouzoud waterfalls in the Middle Atlas Mountains, and enjoy a scenic drive past the olive groves and Berber countryside of the plains north of Marrakech. Enjoy amazing views of North Africa’s longest cascades on this full-day excursion. Back to Marrakech in the afternoon and you will have enough time to explore the city again by yourself.

Day 11: Essaouira Exurssion( Day trip to Essaouira)

After breakfast at 8 AM, We will depart for the Romantic seaside town of Essaouira, a charming, and century-old port town on the Atlantic coast known for beaches, modern art, traditional crafts, and a unique blend of architectural styles. Essaouira is a typical Portuguese harbor portraying influences of both Moorish and Portuguese design. You will have time to look around the city. Day 12: Marrakech cooking class and Hammam

Today you will have an experience cooking authentic Moroccan cuisine at a Marrakesh Cooking Class, which means that you are going to have a lesson on how to prepare some traditional food known only in Moroccan cultures such as mint tea and the most famous Tagine. In the afternoon, you will enjoy the Hammam which is a steam room where locals go to bathe. They will spend two to three hours enjoying the cleaning experience and catching up on the local gossip. You will feel deeply relaxed and refreshed after the Hammam. After that, we will go back to the main accommodation.

Day 13: Marrakech- Ourika valley- Marrakech

After breakfast, at 8 AM we will depart to the Atlas Mountains are about 1 hour from Marrakech, today’s excursion will be to the beautiful High Atlas villages of Ourika and Setti Fatma nestled on the main road in Ait Ourir. During the road, you will stop at the main points for pictures, breaks and to enjoy the natural views. Arrive at the last point of the valley where the waterfalls of Setti Fatma and take a trekking time to visit the waterfalls source of Ourika Valley, running streams, and a taste of Berber village life. You will explore the work of the artisans manufacturing handicrafts found in Marrakech souks such as colored glass and metal tin lanterns, hand-painted woodwork and furniture. You will have the chance too to explore a trail used only by Berbers going to and from the market with their donkeys. Lunch in a local restaurant beside of the valley where you can enjoy the landscapes of the Atlas mountains. We will be back to Marrakech at 8 PM.

Day 14: Marrakech –Airport

Casablanca Imperial cities and desert trip itinerary:

Day 1: Arrive to Casablanca – Rabat.

Our 11 days Casablanca Imperial cities and desert trip will start once we pick you up at the airport. We will start driving around Casablanca city, the largest city, and the economic capital of the country. Our drive through this city will lead us to visit the largest mosque in Morocco “Hassan II”. It is an iconic landmark which is the only one opened for non-Muslims. Later on, we carry on our journey to the political capital, Rabat. We will cover its historical sites such as Oudaya Kasbah, Hassan Tower, and Mohammed V Mausoleum. Overnight in Rabat.

Day 2: Rabat – Meknes – Volubilis ‘Roman Ruins’ – Fez.

Right after your lovely Moroccan breakfast, we meet you at the lobby by 08am and leave Rabat for Fez. Our journey will take us via the imperial city of Meknes. The history of the city dates back to 11th century as it was founded by a local Berber family ‘Meknasa’. Meknes has few historical sites to provide us with such as: Bab Mansour, Moulay Ismail Mausoleum and an old stable used as granary… After this, we shift northeast to Volubilis ‘Roman Ruins’. It is a UNESCO heritage site worth visiting. The site takes us back to 3rd century BC. The Berber name of the site is Oualili which means Nerium oleander plant. We will have an official guide to better understand and cover all the historical secrets of this iconic area. Later on, we take our road to Fes. Late afternoon we will arrive at Fez for an overnight stay.

Day 3: Fez guided walking tour

After breakfast in the Riad, we meet you at the reception and start exploring the oldest city in Morocco, walking via its alleys and small streets. The walking tour of Fez is divided into two parts, the internal and external side. We will start with the external part in which we will try to visit the most historical monuments: The golden gate of Royal Palace, the Jewish headquarter, the first Melah ever built in Morocco, built during the 16th century, the pottery and Zellij tilework… Additionally, during the internal part of our walk, we will ensure to cover all sites with cultural and historical interests including the famous Al Karaouine University, the oldest in the region, the Tanneries, the Attarin Museum and Moulay Idriss Mausoleum. After lunch, we carry on exploring more sites walking through the narrow alleys of this labyrinthic medina. Around 03pm we walk back to our accommodation. Day 4: Meknes – Ifran – Midelt – Ziz Valley – Merzouga

After having breakfast in your hotel/Riad around 08am, your private driver/guide will take you for a journey of a lifetime experience. Today will allow us to explore different landscapes travelling past Ifran, where houses have sloping roofs, remarkable and unusual in Morocco. This is to cope with yearly snowfall. Our journey continues with a drive through the UNESCO preserved Cedar Forest of the Middle Atlas. The forest hosts a colony of endangered Barbary Apes which you might see and feed. From here we drive south of the Middle Atlas passing through Timhadite until we reach Midelt, which lies at the foot of Ayachi Mountains. It is nicknamed ‘the apple capital’ and serves as the commercial agricultural Centre for the surrounding area. It is also one of Morocco’s principal cities of several minerals, such as quartz and vanadinite…we stop for lunch here in one of the local restaurants. Later on, we will continue further south travelling over the Tizi N’ Talghamt pass known as the ‘camel’ pass. We carry on with our trip passing via remote mud villages scattered along the road, then we descend through Ziz Valley, which is particularly known for its palm grove. The fascinating Ziz valley provides us with a great picturesque view. We will arrive in Erfoud, famous for its date and fossils. Finally, we arrive at the red Erg Chebbi dunes of Merzouga. Day 5: Sahara Desert tour & Desert camp

A visit to Morocco without being in the Sahara Desert and a camel ride is definitely incomplete, therefore, today will fully be dedicated just to the desert area. We will have a unique opportunity to visit Gnaoua village “Black people” originally from Mali, Niger…. They will entertain us with their authentic instruments. After spending a worthwhile moment with Gnaoua; we drive deep in the Desert for a panoramic view that shows the contrast of golden dunes with black volcanic rocks. Later on, a cup of tea with a nomad family is worth it in order to explore the way they survive and feel the harshness of life and what it feels like to be a nomad. We follow our path to an abandoned coal mine. After that, we will drive to the village of Merzouga for lunch. Additionally, we make our way to the hotel to collect our luggage and get ready for our camel ride adventure. The dromedaries will take us across Erg Chebbi dunes enjoying the sceneries of the area. The sunset view on top of the dunes will be the best experience ever. Arrive at the camp in the middle of the dunes, we receive you with a cup of tea as hospitality. Day 6: Merzouga – Sijilmasa – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley – Rose Valley – Skoura

Wake up early in the morning to attend and enjoy a spectacular sunrise, when the color of the dunes and the play of shadows are an awesome sight. Set up over the dunes, waiting for the sun to rise and meanwhile feel the cold morning breeze are feelings you will not find elsewhere but here in the Desert. After so, you have your yummy breakfast and get ready to leave the Desert for Skoura. We will pick you up with a 4×4 jeep to meet the driver and head off to our next destination. Our journey will lead us to drive via a number of villages and towns along the road. Not far away from Merzouga, we will stop in Sijilmasa which is one of the oldest cities in Morocco. If our trip coincides with the day market of the town (Tuesday, Thursday & Sunday), a visit is worth it. Later on, we go ahead with our adventure to Todra Gorges, a paradise site for rock climbers and hikers. We will stop at the site to explore its high cliffs. Subsequently, we will follow our passion towards our destination Skoura driving through Dades and Rose Valley. Rose valley is famous for producing different products of rose such as: rose water, rose cream, and rose oil…we carry on our trip to Skoura oasis where to spend overnight in one of its riads.

Day 7: Ouarzazate – Ait Benhadou Kasbah – Atlas Mountains – Essaouira

Right after your breakfast at the hotel/Riad, we meet you at the lobby by 8am and start our adventure to Essaouira. We get ready and leave Skoura for Essaouira. We will drive via thecity of Ouarzazate where to stop to take pictures for Kasbah Taourirt. After doing so, we take our direction towards the Kasbah Ait Benhadou. This latter is a UNESCO heritage and is a chosen backdrop for many Hollywood movies such as Kingdom of Heaven, Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves… It is an iconic vestige that will take us back to the ancient eras of the country, the time of salt and gold trade… our trip continues to Essaouira via the enormous landscape of Atlas Mountains. Along the drive we pass through the windy road with an altitude of 2260m. We will stop on the road for lovely panoramic views. We will make our way through Marrakech to make it to Essaouira. Late afternoon, we arrive to Essaouira. Overnight in Essaouira.

Day 8: Essaouira

Right after your breakfast, you will have free time to explore and discover the charm of this amazing town. Essaouira is the favorite of wind and kite surfers due to its shallow waters. It was once a favorite haunt of Bob Marley and Jimi Hendrix. Despite the beach, there is the old medina to discover. Essaouira is typical of many small fortified Moroccan townships. At one time it was considered one of the most essential ports in Morocco, and it is still in certain manners. Day 9: Essaouira – Marrakech

Get up in the morning, enjoy your breakfast and have your luggage collected to leave Essaouira and drive to Marrakech. Around 10am we start our journey to the red city Marrakech. Before we arrive in Marrakech, we shift our way deep into the High Atlas Mountains to visit the Berber family. When we arrive, they receive us inside their authentic traditional house, visit the house and see how typically they live. They provide us with all the bio nutrition they have (tea, cheese, bread…). Later on, we will take our direction to Marrakech. We drop you at the hotel/Riad, and around 6pm we pick you up for a spectacular dinner with show. Day 10: Marrakech Sightseeing

After breakfast, our guide will meet us at the hotel’s reception to start the exploration of Marrakech “the red city of Morocco “. During our walk tour, we will cover the main historical and cultural points that Marrakech is replete with. We will insist on to see the most essential heritage as Saadi Tombs (OPTIONAL), Koutoubia Mosque ‘External side”, Bahia Palace, the Souk of the city, and then we walk through the famous square of the medina… we will have lunch in one of the local restaurants right by the square. Day 11: Marrakech – Casablanca’s airport

Upon your flight time, we pick you up from the hotel in Marrakech and drive to Casablanca. The drive is about 4 hours. Once we drop you off at the airport, we come to the end of your trip in Morocco and end of our services.11 days Casablanca Imperial cities and desert trip
