8 days Marrakech desert trip itinerary:

Day 1: Arrive at Marrakech airport.

8 days Marrakech Sahara desert trip departure: The guide of Morocco Helping Tour will meet you at the airport and pick you up at your riad/hotel accommodation.

Day 2: Marrakech sightseeing (cultural tour with a local city guide).

After breakfast in the riad, you will start exploring Marrakech “the Red City of Morocco”. Your guide will ensure that you see most of the sites with historical and cultural interest – including the famous Jemaa El Fna square, the Koutoubia Mosque, the Saadian tombs; the Palace of Bahia and the Ben Youssef Coranic School. Lunch at a restaurant near the square, then in the afternoon visit the Majorelle Gardens, and have a short visit to the new city of Marrakech. Overnight accommodation will be at the same riad.

Day 3: Marrakech – Ait Benhaddou – Ouarzazate – Rose Valley – Dades Gorges

Morocco Helping Tour guide will meet you again at Hotel/riad in Marrakech at 8:00 a.m, our tour will take us over the heart of high Atlas Mountains and Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2260m). We’ll stop to enjoy the beautiful landscapes of the mountains and the special Berber Villages on the way. Once, we cross the mountains we get to the gate of desert, the oldest and famous Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou – A Unesco World Heritage Site used as a backdrop for more than 20 films (Gladiator, Lawrence of Arabia, Games of Thrones…We will stop for lunch, then visit this old mud kasbah. Then we will travel through the city of Ouarzazate (Hollywood of Africa) – with biggest cinema studios – after then, we continue south to the Valley of Roses where around 400 tons of rose petals are picked every year and sent to be processed into rose water,which we called it also as the distillation of roses in order to produce the creams and perfumes. Later, we will drive all along the road of thousand kasbahs before arriving at Dades Valley, overnight in a hotel /riad overlooking the Valley.

Day 4: Dades Gorges – Todra Gorges – Erfoud – Merzouga – Sahara Desert

Today after breakfast in the hotel/riad and we will set off to Todra valley: a green fertile valley surrounded by old mud villages, then we drive around 14 km, we get to Todra gorges: a canyon rising to 500m in a valley dotted with Palm trees and Berber Villages. After lunch in the gorge, we will drive to the Desert (Erg chebbi) passing by an old underground irrigation system (Khettarat), which is a system that help people to water their farms. We will continue towards south, we reach Sahara desert where your camels are waiting to give you a ride crossing the golden dunes. The final stop will be at the camel place where we are going to ride them and spend an overnight in the nomadic tent and enjoy the company of a band playing Berber music under the stars in the heart of the desert/ Sahara, This a beautiful experience that you might need to film in the desert/ Sahara.

Day 5: Exploring the desert area (culture and history)

After breakfast in the riad/hotel you will start an explorative journey of the area. You’ll visit the Gnawa people, originally slaves brought from Sudan, to experience their music and lifestyle. After that, we will drive in desert area where you will have the opportunity to meet the nomad families still living in Berber tents and explore their way of life. Today our lunch will be local meal (Berber pezza) with a local family. You may also visit the souk in Rissani, a traditional town which was the origin of the ruling family in Morocco and the meeting place of the Caravans trading as far as Timbuctou in Mali. Here you will see a lot of men hooded and women veiled. After this long journey you’ll be welcomed with a glass of mint tea before you check in to your riad/ hotel where your dinner and breakfast are included.

Day 6: Merzouga (Erg chebi) – Alnif- Nkoub – Ouarzazate

We will have a traditional breakfast at the riad. Later on, we will start our journey towards the city of Ouarzazate (the Hollywood of Africa) and have some stops on the unique panoramic views among the Anti-Atlas Mountains. We will pass through many villages of different Berber tribes. The main stop will take us place in daraa valley You will wake up early to experience an amazing sunrise in the top of the big sand dunes, then, which is the largest and longest valley full of the palm trees, it considered also as the main source of the date the county. After lunch in a traditional restaurant we will drive directly to Ouarzazat where our riad accommodation takes place.

Day 7: Ouarzazate – High atlas- Marrakech

After breakfast in the riad, we will set off for Marrakech over the high Atlas Mountains. Arrival to Marrakech where you will have free afternoon to enjoy the city more.

Day 8: Transfer to the airport

We will pick you up from the riad toward the airport where the service of Morocco Helping Tours Company end.

Day 1: FES- Ifrane- Azrou- Medalt- Errachidia-Merzouga(Erg Chabbi).

4 days Fes Morocco desert trip to Marrakech departure: The guide of Morocco Helping Tours will pick you up from the Hotel/Riad. We will start our trip from the first imperial city (Fes) passing through the middle Atlas Mountains. The first stop will be at the city of Ifrane (Moroccan Switzerland), we will have a walk in the city for 15 minutes to discover its beauty and specificities. Some of the remarkable features of the city are: it is considered the cleanest city in Morocco and it is inspired by the European architecture. After spending few times in Ifrane our trip continues to the biggest and the largest forest in Morocco where you will enjoy the time with Barbarian Apes (monkeys). After then we will be heading to Medalt (the capital of the apple) via the highest point of the middle Atlas Mountains. In the apple city we will have our lunch, then we will drive to pass through Zibell Tunnel which is made by the French colonial in order to pass the weapons to the borders. For a while we will have a stop on the panoramic view of Ziz Valley which is full of palm trees and considered the main source of the date. The final stop we will drive through welcoming Berber villages to Erfoud, and then Rissani, the foundation of the Alaouite dynasty – the current ruling royal family in Morocco. Arriving in Merzouga at the end of the day, you’ll be welcomed with a glass of mint tea before you check in to your riad/ hotel.

Your camel guides will weak you up in the early morning to experience the magic and best sunrise among the dunes which will be the fabulous one in your life. Afterward you will peacefully ride camels back to the riad/hotel where you are going to have a traditional breakfast and take a hot shower. After then we will drive to Erfoud (the capital of fossils and date) where we are going to discover the process of beautiful mineral fossils, then we will leave to Toudra gorges: the highest and narrowest gorge in Morocco and it is about 500m above the sea. Here you will have the chance to hike a long it’s valley. We will drive towards Dades valley where we will see the majestic sand castles and amazing rock formation named “fingers of monkeys”. The overnight accommodation will be in a hotel/riad in the heart of the valley with dinner and breakfast included.

Day 4: Dades valley – Roses valley – Ouarzazat – Ait bn Haddou – Marrakech

Once you finish your breakfast, we will continue our tour that started from Fes. Today we will drive to take the road named the route of thousand Kasbah, providing several opportunities to take beautiful pictures of the trip. The first stop of today will be at Roses valley “The rose city” where you see the how they do the distillation of Roses in one of the cooperatives that offer the product of the roses. Continue to the city of Ouarzazat “the Hollywood of Africa, The door of the desert”. Our mid-day meal will be in the famous Kasbah of Ait bn Haddou. It is recognized by UNESCO as world patrimony. It is famous as backdrop for many films such as: (Gladiator, the Sheltering Sky, Game of Throne). Day 2: MERZOUGA (desert area) – OVERNIGHT AT THE CAMP.

From there to the village of KHAMLIA to discover a new style of life full music and Gnaoua culture. They are originally from different African countries but they became a part of the Berber tribe who is in the same area. Today you will experience the favorite food of this area which is “Berber pizza” organized by a Berber family. In the afternoon, we will drive to the camel rides where you will have your adventure using camels among the dunes and having the overnight in a nomadic camp. You will spend a wonderful experience night while having a traditional Berber music and a beautiful view of stars and moon in the middle of nowhere.

Day 3: MERZOUGA- RISSANI- TOUDRA GORGES- DADES VALLEY

While you were enjoying the sunrise at the heart of the dunes and taking beautiful memories your camel man will take you back to the hotel where you will enjoy your breakfast and having a hot shower as well. Later on, we will drive to Dades valley passing through the city of Rissani/Sijilmassa which is one of the main stops of the commercial caravans that coming from Africa. On Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday there will be an opportunity to visit the traditional market of Rissani. We drive to Todra gorges as the main place of having a picnic because it is a wonderful view. Day 4: DADES VALLEY- ROSES VALLEY – OUARZAZAT- MARRAKECH

Today we travel off-road and explore the region between the Dades Valley and the Valley of Roses. You will encounter the local nomads, some of whom still live in caves and tents. At El-Kelaa M’Gouna up to 4000 tonnes of rose petals are picked every spring to be processed into rosewater or exported for the perfume industry. The Rose Festival is held here in May. As we travel from El-Kelaa M’Gouna towards Skoura you will see Kasbahs set out among the greenery of the Dades Valley. The small town of Skoura is surrounded by an impressive palm grove and the most beautiful Kasbahs in southern Morocco are to be found here. Continuing south we arrive at the Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, probably the most celebrated, filmed and photographed Kasbah in Morocco. Featured in numerous films (including Lawrence of Arabia, The Sheltering Sky and Gladiator), it is the best-preserved Kasbah in Morocco and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Day 5: MARRAKECH (city tour by local guide)

After breakfast at your Riad, the local guide will pick you up to start exploring the city of Marrakech. Today will see the most attractive sights and monuments that Marrakech contains including Bahia Palace, Koutoubia mosque, Saadian tombs, Jamaa El Fanaa Square as well as exploring the traditional Souk of the city. In the afternoon, your driver will take you to visit the famous Majorelle Garden, and Menara Garden, and having a look at the new medina ( geliz) of Marrakech. Later on, he will drop you off at your accommodation where your experience ends with our expert team.

In the afternoon, we will drive to the camel rides where you will have your adventure using camels among the dunes and having the overnight in a nomadic camp. Day 1: Agadir – Taliouine- Ait Ben Haddou- Ouarzazate.

Morocco Helping Tours driver/guide will pick you up from your hotel accommodation in Agadir. Your 5 days tour from Agadir will start by passing through Berber villages where you can have stop regarding your interest. In our way we will stop at one the Cooperatives of SAFRAN as it is the main economy of that city. Our lunch will take place at Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah where we will visit the famous Kasbah (declared World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1986). Famous films have been shot in this spectacular stage, including Gladiator, Obelix, The Mummy, The Jewel of the Nile, and Sahara with Penelope Cruz…etc. After visiting the Kasbah we´ll go to Ouarzazate also known as “The gate of the desert”. Day 2: Ouarzazate – Roses valley- Dades valley – Toudra gorges – Merzouga.

After breakfast at your accommodation, we will continue our 5-day trip towards Sahara Desert. Our first stop will be at Roses valley at the Roses cooperative where you will learn about the distillation of Roses and product that we can make from it. Continuing driving to Toudra gorges which are a series of limestone river canyons, we will stop for 20 minutes to discover the area of gorges and lunch will be at one of the restaurant in our way to Merzouga. Later on, The final stop will be at the camel place where we are going to ride them and spend an overnight in the nomadic tent and enjoy the company of a band playing Berber music under the stars in the heart of the desert/ Sahara, This a beautiful experience that you might need to film. Day 3: Merzouga area (Around the dunes tour)

Get up early for the sunrise view and have your breakfast at the camp and be ready to explorative journey of the area. You’ll visit the Gnawa people, originally slaves brought from Sudan, to experience their music and lifestyle. After that, we will drive in desert area where you will have the opportunity to meet the nomad families still living in Berber tents and explore their way of life. Today our lunch will be local meal (Berber pezza) with a local family. You may also visit the souk in Rissani, a traditional town which was the origin of the ruling family in Morocco and the meeting place of the Caravans trading as far as Timbuctou in Mali. Here you will see a lot of men hooded and women veiled. In the afternoon we will drive to our hotel where you will have time to relax and overnight at the same accommodation.

Day 4: Merzouga- Rissani- Daraa Valley- Ouarzazat – High Atlas- Marrakech

After breakfast thbe ready to start our long driving journey. After then we will start our journey back to Marrakech and have some stops on the unique panoramic views among the Anti-Atlas Mountains. The main stop will take us place in Daraa valley YOU will wake up early to experience an amazing sunrise in the top of the big sand dunes, then, which is the largest and longest valley full of the palm trees, it considered also as the main source of the date the county. Later on, we will continue to Marrakech over the high Atlas Mountains. Day 5: Marrakech Sightseeing (Culture tour by local guide)

After breakfast in the riad, you will start exploring Marrakech “the Red City of Morocco”. Your guide will ensure that you see most of the sites with historical and cultural interest – including the famous Jemaa El Fna square, the Koutoubia Mosque, the Saadian tombs; the Palace of Bahia, and the Ben Youssef Koranic School. Lunch at a restaurant near the square, then in the afternoon visit the Majorelle Gardens, and have a short visit to the new city of Marrakech. Later on, we will drop you off at your accommodation location where the Morocco Helping Tours service ends.
